What we Feed our Chooks
We've committed to feeding our chooks certified organic feed. Yes, it is expensive and difficult to get, but we're not only looking after our health: We wish to support farming methods that protect and enhance our nation's farmland.
This is breakfast mash. We mix this up each day. In the morning we put water/vegie stock/whey in the bottom of the feed bucket and add Free Range Layer mash and finely chopped vegies and fruit. Then we add ag-lime, dolomite, granulated seaweed and shell grit. It is mixed well and then every bird gets a decent scoop of the mash. They love it.

The afternoon feed is a broad mixture of grains and seeds.
In the hotter months we soak this mix in water for 4-6 hours prior to feeding.
